Every time i bend over my back hurts and i have chronic back problems that is very troubled by gardening , which i happen to love. The Darlac helps enormously because I can now prune plants and shrubs without having to bend down. The pruned pieces generally stay in the cutter so that I can pop them into a trug. I can also reach many more plants at the back of my borders and high up, that I couldn't previously reach. In conclusion, I'd recommend this to anyone who has back problems or deep borders and tall shrubs - in fact just about anyone who has a garden.

Great reach on this pruner, the down side is that it does not cut thicker branches as does my other Spear & Jackson (this has shorter reach) I will probably be able to tackle any job with both tools.

My original 1.5m Darlac Snapper has, for several years, proved to be most useful for cutting and grasping out of reach or thorny plants. The cutting and grasping head has a thick jaw on one side and a plain blade on the other and can be rotated to any angle. If the thick blade is at the top it securely grasps the piece of plant that it has cut off so that it can be easily removed from tangled vegetation. When the thin blade is on top the plant is simply cut off and dropped. Having found the long version to be so useful I have now purchased the shorter 1.0m version which I frequently use instead of standard pruners as it saves picking up the off-cuts. It is particularly useful for pruning roses!

Absolutely thrilled with my new tool. Great for dead heading climbing roses and getting at the blooms in the middle of the bush without getting scratched arms on the thorns. Also good for lower plants as saves you bending down so far. The fact that you can carry the cuttings in the mouth of the tool to the garden waste bin is excellent. One suggestion would it be possible to put soft grip on the handles, would be great for arthritic hands. All in all really pleased with this tool I have been looking for one for a while.

Very good for cutting stems / plants which cannot easily be reached. It holds onto the cut stems making it easy to collect them. You need to cut stems one by one so it can be slow work; but this is not a fault - it is just the right tool for cutting difficult to reach individual stems, twigs etc.
