I bought this for my Raspberry Pi so I could use it with an old monitor that only has VGA input. The worry with the Raspberry is that it does not push out enough power to drive a normal converter (you risk burning out the HDMI output). This converter comes with an extra power supply that plugs into a spare USB port so you can safely use it with the Pi. Works great and so far no problems. Very happy.
