No assembly instructions so much head scratching required for assembly. Cutting head is secured (well not actually) to pole with just one badly fitting nut and bolt so head is never properly secured - why not use two bolts?? I'm an engineer and this is schoolboy stuff. And the mention of 4m length in the desciption - maybe including your arms and torso but at full extension the item is only 2.3m long. Dont bother, cheap and nasty!

After seeing a second hand one of these going local to myself on Ebay and being sniped at the last second for £10.01 decided to do a search and found a new one ( with the saw blade - which the used one didn't have ) for £16.95 free P+P so snapped it up....while browsing saw them from Ebay Germany for the princely sum of £1.00 ( YES, One pound!! ) with P+P at £9.90 so I now have two...and they do what it says on the tin..... If you want to lop high branches-Get one or maybe even two... John

This tool takes a bit of practice to operate it efficiently, ensuring its length is fixed, placing the cutter head at the right location amongst the foliage, and avoiding tangling the cord that pulls up the cutting blade. It is also advisable to resist being over-ambitious about the size of branch to be cut. The saw attachment is perhaps the least effective part of the tool, since sawing presumes a steady target rather than a swaying branch - again accuracy and small ambition is needed, certainly for a start. All of that said, this tool is a sort of magic wand to help keep trees and shrubs in manageable proportions. Very satisfactory.

This seems to be good quality. I have not really used it yet. Only to snip a few branches to try it. I think I will find it too heavy for me to use. Maybe a lighter slimmer pole would have been better. As you need to hold with one hand whilst pulling the rope with the other. But for anyone physically fit it is s good buy.
