i started to watch the doc martin series on itv3 between 1600 and 1700, having never given it much house room when it was shown on itv 1,and got very annoyed when it suddenly just stopped when i was just getting quite into it, martin clunes is a superb actor and carries the part off suberbly, how rude, arrogant and disrespectful can he be he's only got one head, but as caroline katz keeps reminding us 'thats just martin',fantastic, all the other characters are just as superb, joe, bert, louisa, joan, etc, the scenery and back drops are outstanding, the locations manager certainly landed on their feet finding this filming location, a particlarly great thing about the series is that every episode is stand alone and you don't have to follow any fixed story line, i have watched every episode now and can fully recommend the series to anyone who is looking for some escapism at any given time, well worth a look, it really is worth watching just to see how unembaressed the character isRead full review
Absolutely love this series. Only saw a repeat for the first time a couple of months ago and we enjoyed it immensely so I started ordering the dvd's. It's the best tv series we've seen for years and can't wait for the next series, which I understand is being filmed as we speak. Love Martin Clunes as an actor anyway, and his attitude in Doc Martin is hilarious. the only thing we dislike about the series is that we've run out of episodes to watch and are going to have to start watching them all over again.
This series follows the trials and tribulations of curmudgeonly Doctor Martin Ellingham and his relationship with the prim and proper Louise Glasson who is the headmistress of the local primary school. The series is set on the North Cornwall coast in the fictional fishing village of Port Wenn. The locations used for filming are around Port Issac, Delabole and Bodmin Moor. The characters are believable, but of course, it is all pure fantasy - in real life, a GP would not run from his surgery to treat an emergency on the beach. The medical conditions and scenarios depicted are very unlikely, to say the least. However, if you are prepared to accept the fictional premises of the show, then the series is relaxing to watch in the delightful setting of the Cornish coast.

Had watched some of the episodes on T.V but missed most of them saw mainly re runs which I enjoyed so much decided to buy the whole series 1-4 which is excellent, even better on DVD as no interruptions with adverts and you can watch as little or as much as you like. Very topical subjects, both funny and sad at times but thoroughly recommended.
very enjoyable during Christmas period. would advise to anyone to purchase to escape lockdown blues.
