QUITE REMARKABLE
Disclaimer: Opinions expressed in this review are solely mine, and may not relate to any other person with the same results. And it is not intended in any way to discredit Linksys line of products. Anyone who tries to follow my explanations, suggestion or opinion does so at his or her own risk. That apart,It was a great experience using this product, not primarily on account of Linksys WRT54GL Wireless Router per se, but for the fact that the router met the compatibility threshold to be upgraded to Linux wonders DD-WRT firmware upgrade, http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/index which technically speaking removes the router in the hands of Linksys to DD-WRT, because, the operating system becomes replaced by that of DD-WRT’s. This upgrade opens doors to a lot of possibilities; Your Router is truly unleashed, features that were only available in very expensive routers became available in abundance. I was more interested in PPTP VPN-pass through, which was a pain in the neck to implement. But with the firmware upgrade to dd-wrt.v24, it became a breeze to implement. If you are interested in Implementing VOIP in your network it is achievable by a mere firmware upgrade to the VOIP version. Although Linksys has different flavours of the WRT54G series, the WRT54GL does well in this light. I would recommend this router to anyone (at his or her own risk) who would want to go further to explore greater possibilities of the capabilities of a free dd-wrt.v24 firmware upgrade.
