    Older performance but very good

    The soloists are amazing dancers and the production is enchanting. I could trace the full story of the nutcracker with this version. Having said that if a newer performance becomes available I will buy that too. BBC versions are normally first class.

    Classic ballet, dated format

    This is a wonderful adaptation of the classic Nutcracker story. Sadly though, the quality of the format does not translate well to modern large screen 4K TVs, with the picture being overly soft and grainy. It is still watchable, but I would recommend paying a bit more for a more modern version on Blu-Ray.

    Well known ballet - title needs no explanation

    This is the Royal Ballet at it's best. I have long wanted the version with Lesley Collyer and Anthony Dowell, (I saw him dance when he was still a student) so was delighted to find it. Well worth the wait! Beautiful sets and costumes and good character dancing.

    Beautiful music and dancing

    The Nutcracker is one of the most beautiful of all ballets. The music is of course just wonderful and the dancing is superb. I have been fortunate to have seen this ballet many times and it is so good to have this dvd and be able to watch it in my own home.
