Good product, well made and cuts well, rather heavy to use but what can you expect when the weight is some distance away from you, all in all a good product but can only use it for a short period of time before you need to take a breather so saying I think most similar makes will have the same issue.

The trimmer was easy to assemble, and use. However at full length it became a bit heavy, this was solved by adjusting the shoulder strap. It certainly has the power to cut through the toughest of branches and the 450 watt motor didn't lack the power that battery powered ones seem to suffer from. If you want a good non petrol trimmer this is the one.

The Ryoby has a strong cutting action and went through the top of a twiggy, tough privet hedge over 7ft high easily. What isnt easy (for me at least) is holding it up in position. All the weight is at the top end and as well as supporting the weight you have to kind of counterbalance it to keep the blades in the place you need them. A strong man would probably have no trouble. I also had difficulty connecting and disconnecting the pieces due to the weight all at one end, and the force needed to push in an pull out the connectors. Having said all that, its very flexible in the way you can change the angles and lengthen it. I think it will be used often and saves balancing on ladders with a hedge cutter.

It makes trimming my tall conifers much easier than trying to do it on a ladder, it’s a lot safer too. The blades cut through thick branches with ease. The only down side is that it is quite top heavy and the harness that it comes with is just a single shoulder strap that I find difficult to get in a good position to support the weight, perhaps a bit more practice may help.
