I purchased one of these for my father. During the course of understanding its' operation (so I can teach my father), I can see how chromebooks are ideal for some people. No worries about back-ups, store your stuff on google cloud. This toshiba cb30-b-103 weighs 1.32kg. The screen is HD, though not the full HD res that the b-104 model boasts, but the 103's screen is perfectly readable and the brightness has a good adjustment, via dedicated keys (as does the speaker vol). The font size and the cursor arrow sizes can easily be made larger, via the 'settings' menu. This makes it very 'accessible' for people whose eyesight presents a challenge. On playing an mp3 file, the stereo sound from the internal skull candy speakers is impressive. You can also work off-line; disable the wi-fi to preserve some battery life, and drag and drop photos, mp3, files etc from an external usb stick into the 'files' area (googles equivalent of 'my computer. Th case is very hard rugged plastic, with a dimpled texture on the topside. The keys have a good tactile feel, not too much travel, upon each press, but enough to know you have pressed. Connecting to a HDMI TV, you can set the resolution to see full HD on your TV, or just 'mirror' whatever is displayed on the toshiba's screen. I gather google are endeavouring to get more and more android apps to work on chromebooks such as this one. If you have particular favourites, I would suggest checking that they are compatible with chromebooks. Overall, a very good machine, especially if you get one for a bargain price, without too many scuffs and scrapes.Read full review
