Ordered two as I wanted to leave one on the caravan. The problem is I can hardly hear it buzzing, have another model Salter timer but it is held together with tape as it its so old and I was expecting it to be similar, after all this time this timer has a loud buzz which is great. The new one is so quiet that if I am timing something and I am not in the kitchen I don't hear it.

Pros This product has large face easy to use Cons Beeping sound is barely audible when pressure cooker or other kitchen devices are being used, the magnet is great for the fridge but difficult to operate because it moves about when trying to set. Does the job

I had an older version of this timer which I have been pleased with. So when it began to become faulty I tried to order the same one again. It appears that they have been updated as it now takes a much smaller battery and it is much lighter in weight. The timer seems to be working ok but it is very annoying. When trying to set the time up it bleeps for every minute so if you are setting it up for an hour it is tedious. The alarm sound is very quiet and cannot be heard if you are in a different room. It appears very plasticky and I think if I had seen it before buying I would not have purchased it.

Numbers are nice and big, silver finish is reasonable (although a little plasticy). My main gripe with this, though, is that the magnet on the back is a rectangle that protrudes and isn't powerful enough to hold the timer still on the fridge. This is especially true when you press the buttons on the timer. Because of the shape of the magnet, the whole unit rocks on the edge of the magnet (and tends to move about!). Why they didn't use several small, neodymium magnet that sit *flush* against the back of the unit is beyond me. I ended up opting for a brabantia round white timer, which I'm very happy with.
