A really useful addition to my DeWalt 18v collection of tools. Light but sturdy and easy to set the amount you want to remove each pass. Well worth looking at the online videos of how to use the planer as there are many features that are not obvious especially given the book you receive with it only covers basic operations of the tool

Handyman with many years experience. Bought this as old one gave up and down the Dewalt battery route anyway. Used the planer for the first time planing 5 doors ( bought the bag to capture shavings) . It's a big machine and planes well, however, it blocks very very easily and starts to spit out shavings from opposite side leaving a huge mess. If using in workshop and not too bothered about mess then its not bad for the dough, but if you like clean, give this a miss.

Had an 240v Makita planer since 1990's and still work's as good as ever. But cables trailing and rain are a hazard so as the Makita was about £290 for body this is about £140 body, delivered. Smooth operation, quick charge and a handy compartment to store spare blades which is very handy when you need a spare quickly on the job. Al in more than satisfied with DeWalt.

Having other XR equipment the choice to buy this when l needed a power plane was was a no-brainer, and like all DeWalts XR range it performs faultlessly and does the job perfectly. I've had B&D, Makita, and Bosch, but for me DeWalt are the masters.

Having used one on site I knew I needed one of these! A great bit of kit, light weight and easy to use also a very sensible price.
