I used this USB drive to store music to listen to in my car. The socket is inside the centre console armrest storage cubby, so the very small protrusion of this device once inserted in the USB port makes it ideal for this application. I did notice that it got quite hot while I was loading files on to it from my computer, but I did it quite intensively, from a prepared folder on the hard disc - not one song at a time, so it took quite an intensive hit of writing data all at once, so I guess its not surprising. In use in the car, playing music it's perfectly cool.
