As a home baker of bread for the weekly sandwiches I have inevitably tried several bread flours. Until now I have never found success with brown flour, the loaves whilst tasty, have always been disappointing to the family, being small and dense compared to white. I freely admit it will never be possible to emulate the factory brown loaf with its high tech and chemicals, however, when mixed 50/50 with Marriages strong white bread bread flour I have at last achieved a soft, tasty and well risen loaf. Maybe a tiny tad shorter in height than a pure white loaf, but still a full sized sandwich loaf. I have always used the bread flour available from the local supermarkets beleiving that bread flour is bread flour, wrong. This product is head and shoulders above those. I bake by hand, having failed to get the results I look for from my food mixer. The difference in structure of the finished loaf is far superior in every way, I get soft well structured dough that does not fall apart,cuts well and makes excellent sandwiches. 250g Marriages Strong White Bread flour 259g Marriages Strong Brown Bread Flour 20g olive oil 8g salt 320g warm water !6g Fresh Bakers yeast Rise, Knock back, fold and form, rise in large bread tin. 40 mins at 200c in fan oven.Read full review
