An excellent compact camera. Takes great photos except in very poor light. Otherwise superb. Optical zoom is amazing and image stabiliser allows for high zoom shots to be hand held and still good results. Highly recommended.

Just returned from holiday having purchased this camera to take with us. One of the deciding factors for me was the EVF, it was invaluable on this trip as it was very bright and sunny and the LCD was hard to see. The camera was the perfect travel zoom being fast, reliable, very veratile and has produced excellent stills and video in challenging light. 10/10 well done Sony.

Nice little camera, with a multitude of options in the menu, at it's maximum, the 30 x zoom is useful but can be difficult to focus and keep steady when using the screen. This can be helped by the tiny but usable pop up viewfinder. Image quality is generally very good but like all small sensor compacts it suffers in low light. After weeks of trying different settings I found that (P) Programme mode with MF Noise Reduction 'on' produced the best results, also I reduced the in-camera sharpening to -2 to avoid over processing. If you want to keep things simple the Superior Auto (yellow) mode is good for most situations.

I'm very impressed with this camera, the zoom is amazing and produces a surprisingly stable image. It's easy to use as a point and shoot camera and very compact but has additional features if you want to go a bit more in depth. Great price on the refurb model.
