I purchased this to prune a large bush which had got out of hand! It is an excellent saw -easy to use -particularly in confined spaces and is a lot safer than large chainsaws for such a job, and easier than a pruning saw although I had to use the latter once when branches were too crowded. It arrived charged, but not fully charged. I've also used it for cutting firewood and other jobs. Dont force it, it will do the job well if used properly. My only complaint is that my hands are just a bit too small and holding it for any length of time is a little uncomfortable. The battery lasts a long time -I haven't had it long enough to say how long the blade lasts, but it is still going strong after cutting a lot of wet wood.

I really liked the idea and the quality is great, it's just not powerful enough to replace secateurs. You can use long handle secateurs to cut the same branches in one cut. Cutting the same branch with these takes 3 times as long. Plus, springy branches have to be held with the other hand ti cut with this saw which is tricky if you're up a ladder - secateurs don't have this problem. Really like the design and quality, just haven't yet found a use for it :-(

I saw this little saw on YouTube with mixed reviews. I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Bosch Easy Cut 12 from Garden Fox in UK. Being a foreign market saw, I had questions about voltage compatibility. I was told what plug adapter I needed and that the charger needed 220 volts to work. As it turns out, the saw was shipped with a standard, non up-voltage plug adapter. The charger, a Bosch AL 1115 CV worked perfectly on 120 volts, no up-voltage converter needed! I took the saw outside to try it out. It worked fine. Being a Nano Blade, don't expect the saw to cut fast through thick diameter branches or wood stock. The saw succeeds at reducing fatigue on big cleanup jobs versus hand sawing. The saw is quiet and comfortable. Just take the saw for what it is, a tiny chain saw. It works fine for bulk cleanup. I like it. Read full review

Basically a mini chainsaw allowing precision sawing of wood. The Bosch is a very easy device to use with a safety interlock button accessed both sides of the pistol grip and actuated by the thumb side of either hand thus allowing it to be used in either hand. The interlock must be pressed before the pistol trigger can be pressed to actuate the cutting blade. I love the device but haven’t found the ‘perfect’ mode of operation. As far as cutting branches it would be far quicker to use secateurs or lobbers or small garden pruning saw. The device can not cope with anything larger diameter than an 2.5cm (1”) and I’ve seen other reviews that report the chain breaking easily if ‘pressured’ - @ £14 per blade that’s expensive! So the saw needs to be treated with respect. Will be trying the saw with up to 12mm thick board in near future. The saw is a well balanced tool to hold and I can see it would be very useful for wood sculpture fine detail in the context of fullsize chainsaw wood sculpture. Has enhanced 12V Lithium ion battery technology which allegedly delivers longer usage time. Quick Charger and saw come in a robust plastic box.Read full review

First practice, a wood spirit roughed out in an offcut of Yew about 1 1/2in across. Not bad for a chainsaw!!! This is the Bosch nanoblade, a 12volt rechargeable battery tool designed for pruning smaller branches. Like its big brother, it can also be used for carving - just on a smaller scale. With a self-contained miniature chainsaw blade just 3in long it is great for detailed work. Very fine cut and no oil reservoir, so cannot spill onto the work and leave oil marks. Cuts like a demon - so keep fingers and thumbs behind the guard away from the blade! Recommend this for fine work.
