I had the first generation sansa clip for about 5 years, until it died of old age. I use it at night to sleep, whilst I study to concentrate, and when i'm in the city to block out the noise. I bought this one as I like the sansa/ sandisk clip range. They are good value for money, and apparently they are considered by some as "audiophile quality". I don't know much about that, but I agree the sound quality is decent. Compared to the first model, the sound quality is on par, the memory capacity is excellent and the battery life is amazing. It will go around 2 weeks without a charge, playing an album a night. I think it has a radio, although I've never tried it.the display is good. Basic LCD, but it displays album art clearly and is easy to read. It's a perfect size to keep in your pocket. My only gripe is the clip (the very component it is named after) is broken, just as the previous one was when it arrived through the post. I would recommend a clip to a friend. Bought 2 of these for myself and my friend for the 24h race at Le Mans last weekend as the battery life was quoted as up to 25h. We only used the radio function and on a full charge one managed 10h+ and the other just over 9h. We had no other music files on them. This was disappointing but, fortunately, we had a power bank to recharge so not a spoiler. The plus point is they have great sound quality with race commentary coming across very clear. Would maybe be better to quote battery longevity as 'over 8h' rather than 'up to 24h'

Wasn't expecting a lot considering all the mixed reviews but glad I purchased this little MP3 player! When used with your own headphones the sound is great! Not sure why people are complaining about the sound being low... It's high! Probably too high if used on full volume. Great little MP3 player clips on my clothes and good to go for a run, no touch screen thank God! Imagine how many times I've accidentally touched the buttons and it's changed the songs all because of touch screen, this MP3 player doesn't have this meaning even if you accidentally touch the screen or buttons it's won't change the song. Haven't tested the battery life or the SD card as it hold a lot of songs as it is so not sure if I will ever need to but great that they have this option. Glad I purchased the 8gb and not the 16gb. I just wouldn't have used up all the space and if I ever did need space I can use my SD card in the 8gb. Easy to use really pleased with this. I already knew about the Sandisk product range and had a Sansa mp3 player some years ago but mislaid it. I have since tried a few other makes but found none as easy to use as the Sansa, When I spotted one on Ebay at a really good price I placed a bid and won it. As I recall it is a slightly newer model than my lost one and is in fact better, the screen is brighter and easy to read and the sound, coupled with my 1More Triple Driver Phones is unbelievably good. I love it, you can even hear everything when the volume is turned down very low, set it at a pleasant level and it becomes a real treat to the ears. I doubt that you could find a better quality product at anywhere near the price point of Sandisk's range. Add to the pro's, the fact that you can increase the capacity simply by installing a memory card, it is awesome. I cannot find a single fault with the device at all. Overall, a very happy user, let's just hope that this one doesn't go astray.Read full review
