The product works well,it makes a noise when in use, but is a comforting sound when after training chickens to use it,you here it being used throughout the day.The main reason for the purchase was to keep the rats,of the food night and day.

This product is great and love the concept. My chickens used it really well within a couple of days. Unfortunately it didn’t withstand their eager feeding and the side bars bent and made it hard for them to use. This being said I would by this product again if I had gentle feeding birds!

Poultry keeper/exhibitor/breeder/ of over 40 years. I was sick of wild birds stealing my poultry food in winter so I bought one of these to try. It's worse than the suspended feeder I usually use because the lid won't close again so the wild birds still steal the food and *this* time, it's at ground level so the rats can steal it too!!! It's a great idea, but obviously needs some refinement.

Feeder is unstable if not on level ground, hens are very skittish and as yet are not using it as intended after 10 days. As soon as the treadle or lid start to move they are off, so at present the treadle is weighed down with a brick which rather defeats the object. Even then they do not stand on the tradle they eat from the side.

As the feeder is getting empty, when the chicken stands on the treddle the whole thing tips forwards. It has some quite sharp corners. Our chickens prefer to stand on the top rather than eat from it. It is quite good value for money, but the above issues need sorting and then it would be 5 stars.
