I found that the clippers with the length guards on tended to get clogged up with the silky hair too easily and after taking the guards off and clearing the blades about 15 times i had hardly made any progress so i left the guards off and set the blades at their longest setting and just carefully clipped my boy that way. This was far simpler and my it didn't tug on his fur. The clippers were relatively quiet, so much so that my boy ended up falling asleep on the table while i carried on clipping him! This from a dog who screams blue murder at a professional groomers! I would highly recommend these clippers, easy to use and clean and definitely worth the money.

It's possible I bought the wrong type. However they are certainly no good for large dogs. they just would not cut anything and got snagged up immediately. I would imagine they might work on very short hair, certainly not the range of hair and dogs they advertise. Not fit for purpose for my needs.

I love these trimmers for my little dogs....they are so easy to use and safe on them too. They also come as a litter grooming set with comb and scissors and other little accessories. The fact it has a 2 yr warranty is a bonus and I would highly recommend this and definitely value for money. Speedy delivery too....thank you

Really easy to use and make a good job of clipping your hound, excellent tutorial DVD supplied, good selection of implements combined into a handy case. we are very happy with the result and the clippers were half the cost of one professional clipping visit we previously had!!

I thought this trimmer would make cutting my west highland white dogs hair easy. Unfortunately it struggles and gets stuck in there hair. I have to cut there hair first with the scissors . And then slowly use the trimmer to cut there hair.I don't think it can cope with thick terrier, dog hair coats, it struggles on my dogs. Arrived quickly, and well packaged, and the C.D is very informative .Would recommend to dogs with thinner coats. West highland white dogs do have a double layer of dog hair to trim.
