I owned the Cuisinart CPT-440FR Motorized 4 Slice Toaster for several years and really enjoyed it. However, the cord developed a short and I wanted to replace my toaster with the same model. I found the only way I could get the same toaster was to purchase a Certified Refurbished model from eBay, because Cuisinart is no longer producing new models for this toaster. I was initially reluctant to purchase a refurbished toaster, because I usually only purchase brand new items. However, since I really wanted the same model, I decided to purchase the refurbished model. The refurbished toaster comes directly from Cuisinart and was in the original box. My toaster was delivered within the promised, short timeframe. It looks brand new and works perfectly. A bonus for purchasing the certified refurbished toaster from eBay is the 2-year warranty. I love this toaster! It's very high tech looking, lol. Works great. And a nice "ding" to tell you it's done. I bought this reconditioned. It looks perfect. Came well packaged. And fast. I had a t-fal, that I liked a lot. But, they now sell for $100. I got this 4 slot toaster for almost half that. Haven't burned my fingers yet!

I like and recommend this toaster. The wife likes her toast real light color whereas I like mine toasted, but not burnt. Now she has her side of the toast and I have mine. I would periodically forget to turn our old 2 slice toaster back to her setting and then she would be frustrated with me. Now the problem is solved.

This is an amazing toaster and worth every penny. Its fun to watch the toast slowly go down into the slots. It makes my waffles have a "just right" crispy texture but not too much. I think its the slow steady heat that makes it toast differently than your cheap toaster that blast high heat on everything. Not sure exactly how it works but I love the way everything turns out. I have not done Bagels yet but I have high hopes. Just remodeled our kitchen and it adds to the beauty of the granite counter top too.
