I am very happy with this DustBuster. It's powerful and comes with lots of tools so it's great for cleaning around our caravan and will also be good for the car. The lead is super-long so you can get around without having to keep unplugging. All in all a super value-buster!!

Whilst this hand-held vacuum is good, for all practical purposes it can't be used to clean up dust, pet hair or other particulates as the 'HEMA' filter quickly clogs causing the appliance to overheat and shutdown (built in safety feature). Heavy sawdust, dirt, larger particulates, YES. Fine dust, powders, hair, NO.

Love this hoover. Fantastic for a handheld bit so light and easy to use. Easy to empty and gets in to all nooks and crannies especially in the car. Super long cable so even bet. Not disappointed and would definitely recommend.

The main buying point for me was the long reach extension tubes. Those small cobwebs in a corner; and general spot cleaning, seemed to make this an ideal choice. A lone spider, high on the wall, gave me an opportunity to test the usefulness of the device. I fired up my ‘arachnid-buster’ ; aimed - and - well - nothing really! After chasing the pesky little beast for a couple of yards - it turned round, gave me the finger and ran off laughing. I blame Black and Decker for my embarrassment! What went wrong? It worked quite well when tested. I blame myself partially. When buying a new cleaner, I always install a pre-filter if possible. This consists of a piece of kitchen towel, located before any HEPA filter, to trap most of the ‘dust’. In this case, it reduced the suction slightly, but noticeably. This wasn’t the main problem however. The finer dust penetrated this layer and blocked the HEPA filter. Even after cleaning, the ‘blocked filter’ indicator did not stay on zero. Removing the filter restored full suction, so it would suggest that cleaning the filter does not restore it completely. The cleaner was working for less than four minutes before it needed cleaning. Less time than the Dyson it was meant to replace. At six minutes running time the Dyson battery cleaner works better than this. My Dyson’s battery capacity has reduced to 48 seconds over time, and a replacement costs about the same as the B&D, hence my choice. I like the idea of the B&D cleaner, but the design is flawed. HEPA filters are designed as air filters and have been used in the automotive industry for many years as air and oil filters. They were never designed as dirt collectors and the small one used in the dust-buster just doesn’t stand a chance. I believe a small standard cleaner with either cyclone or bags is a better bet. It’s interesting to note that many cleaners of this type are touted as cheaper to run, as they don’t need bags. So, buying HEPA filters instead of bags? Doesn’t work for me. In the near future, my cleaner will be ‘adjusted’ by removing the HEPA and replacing it with just kitchen towel filters. It may break sooner, but hey, it’s cheaper to buy a new cleaner than keep buying filters.Read full review
It was delivered minus two blower bits which I will probably not need and no instruction leaflet or guidance. Have only used it once and it delivers enough suction for the job. I think it will be quite useful.
