The stand is very sturdy and keeps my 5 - string banjo secure. You might think it wouldn't be that secure given its relatively small size, however it is exceptionally good. I would recommend it to anyone needing to secure instuments such as banjo, mandolin, fiddle/violin, ukulele, etc.

I am very pleased with this stand, which I use for my 5-string banjo. At first I was unsure that the stand would hold my banjo securely (because it is quite small), however, it does an excellent job, and I feel that my instrument is held very securely. Please note that if you use this stand for a banjo it will need a resonator (to lean the instrument against the back of the stand). The foam padding on this stand prevents scratches to your instrument, so that is not a concern at all. All in all a very good product and recommended.

(Reviewed from the point of view of a ukelele player - I don't have a violin) This stand is functional and effective, the width can be adjusted to best suit your instrument. From my usage, it should work fine for most ukes. I would say it is best suited to conventional (not slim-body) concert and tenor ukes, but will also be usable for soprano ukes (but nothing smaller). Might also suit slimmer-bodied baritone ukes and tenor guitars, but I can't test that. Doesn't really suit by soprano flying-v, but that is unusual, so I didn't expect it to. It is stable and will be most useful when I am busking.

Good quality product, lightweight and good value for money

It works, up to a point. Fine for a soprano uke, a laminate concert needs to be placed very carefully, and a solid wood concert is too heavy for it and tips it over backwards.
