I bought this guitar with the intention of using it more for special tuning for songs requiring it. I have a Martin Acoustic and it plays beautifully. But this one I love even more than my Martin. Imagine my surprise when I pulled it out of the box, and it was love at first strum. It is not only beautiful to look at, it plays like a dream and required absolutely no set up at all, It was almost in tune as well right out of the box. Island Music is an outstanding company with solid communications with me and followed up to make sure I was happy. Best price anywhere as well on this guitar. Can't recommend them enough, or more highly.

I sold a 1968 Gibson Hummingbird in order to pay rent in 1978. I always regretted that decision. However, with this Epiphone Hummingbird, I have all that the Gibson had, and more. The fact that it has a pickup makes it even better, in my opinion. I am currently playing it through a Marshall Valvestate VS100 head, with a vintage Gibson 2X10 speaker cabinet. The sound is just incredible! I plays as easily as my Martin D-41, with the bonus of being amplified. What more can I say: I love this Hummingbird!

Defective preqmp in guitar was replaced by seller. Then all OK. Very good fingerboard action, excellent tone acoustic or amplified. The first one had some fingerboard rattle cured by raising bridge slightly. Replacement had no rattle. Beutiful guitar had lots of compliments.

A buy that had issue of factory over extended neck with little or no adjustment. Did a little adjustment and guitar plays beautifully. Very good playability . Great sound. Not bad for a factory reject. Would highly recommend this guitar for any young or seasoned guitarist!
