my factory reconditioned box was in very good condition and was boxed as though brand new. set up was so easy as box leads you through set up and as i fitted a good loft arial the box picked up 100+ channels some duplicated as about 10 HD. the electronic programming is easy to search about a week ahead and set recording single or whole series. also has all the internet apps that it gets access to from my WIFI. love this new box and saving £80 a month now without cable TV and not missing the other channels. these HD freeview recorder do what they say they do as long as you have a decent TV and signal.

I was busy and didn't test this for several days as I presumed it would be perfect. However it is far from it, there seems to be a fault that turns the unit off and back on randomly resulting in a film being split into 120 separate recordings with bits missing. What a shame we can't use VHS tapes anymore and keep our fav stuff on a shelf and lend them to friends. If you buy a Humax it has far more video outputs like Scart and Phono which makes a Humax easier to connect to a PC video capture devise and older TV's with fewer HDMI sockets. I have just bought this to replace my 10 year old Humax which is still working better than this Panasonic. go to youtube watch?v=BLBpnMwee70

This was bought to replace our Virgin media TIVO box. The TIVO is playing up and we do not want to pay Virgin for a call out as we hardly use it these days and have a minimum contract. I took the plunge and ordered an Argos reconditioned unit. I was apprehensive as years ago I had DVD-R version that I did not get on with. But with this I am delighted. The box was a little tatty but was all, everything else was new. It did not look like it had come out of the box. I read complaints of performance issues and slowness. I have no complaints, it is a little slow to load the guide but I am talking seconds and that is nothing. I set this up without using the guide, I just had a few peps at a few pages, it really is easy. Image quality is first class and things like deleting, using the Freeview Play and playing files from a usb stick are simple. It looks good and is very neat to look at. I would buy this item again.Read full review

Excellent Panasonic PVR offering great picture quality in standard and HD, easy to follow menu and very good EPG, Able to record 2 HD programmes at once and good quality remote control. A great performing machine which also offers network connections such as You Tube and BBC iPlayer . This Panasonic is amongst the best in the field and easily surpassed my expectations and cost far less than a brand new device. Has all the Freeview functions such as Freeview Play and Netflix. Excellent and high quality HDD recorder. Recommended.

Not had any problems to date. Previous we had Sky+ which in my opinion is as good as it gets when it comes to ease of use, but the Panasonic is pretty intuitive and seems reliable. Positives: Everything is where you'd expect and the Freeview Play feature which allows you to browse back in time from the guide for 'catch-up' programmes without having to go to each individual app (iPlayer etc), is very useful. Negatives: It can be a little slow to respond at times, and I do miss the ability to move up and down a page at a time when using the guide or moving a day forward or backwards when trying to set something in the future to record, but other than that it's been great, and far better than what we had built-in to our TV.
