Bought for Freesat after Freeview aerial down in storm, rip off price quoted to re-erect it and digital signal here (TV & radio) has always been rubbish anyway. Discovered by simply plugging into existing Sky dish LNB (need multiport LNB for both) hundreds of freesat channels are yours with no constant signal drop out like Freeview and all the digital radio without the bubble & squeak sound continually experienced every time the aerial fed signal dropped every few minutes, brilliant! I was initially confused by all the talk of 'gifts' and 'lines' until I found out what they were and they were not what I wanted anyway. So if you're in a poor digital signal area like most of us, which isn't going to get any better and just want the legal freebies, this little box is a wonder for the price. You can even stick a USB or ext HDD in and record (PVR) all the TV you want! It's fairly straightforward to set up and connect to your internet (WiFi or LAN) and even updates the software for you. There's a number of online services on the menu including You Tube (couldn't see BBC iPlayer or any others I recognised) some of which require registration, subscription or set up (for sat the geeks) and some which don't appear to work in this region but there's so many free TV and radio channels it seems a bit superfluous to me unless you have a specific need for them.Read full review
