bought it as i really needed a dvd player.. and when i got told it had a freeview recorder.. thought fantastic.. even better.. records onto dvd.. fab.. good points.. it's very quite.. compared to my last 1 but then could be coz my last 1 has a hard drive. Very easy to records to dvd. Looks ok.. not too bulky.. quite slim line bad points guide.. everything goes quite when looking at the programme guide records only onto dvd, so no hard drive. no dvd in, no record... it doesn't give you a warning to say no dvd in.. just goes about it's business, acts like it's recording.. light on and everything.. just don't know where it goes.. Thought it's meant to have a small hard drive, but we have tried to look.. can't find it anywhere.. Not sure if i would recommend it.. I guess if all you want was a dvd, for like a spare room and the freeview is a bonus, then yes.. but if the recording bit is an important factor, then NO, coz you're going to need a lot of dvds..Read full review

We purchased this item through need. The previous one had become beyond economic repair. We needed a recorder which was simple to use, both of us 80, and this fairly basic model fits the bill. We have been able to do what we have wanted to do with it so far, and provided it gives us long and trouble free service, we will be very happy.
Any item that works the way it's supposed to deserves five stars.

This dvd recorder and upscaler is brilliant and we have had no problems with it at all. Easy instructions to set up and operate. Really good price, well known company and fantastic machine, especially if you have it connected to a HD tv.
