This is a superb film dramatizing the events around the creation of the Treaty between Britain and Ireland leading to the Irish free state. The video quality is not that great as it is a DVD copy of an original VHS. However as I have been unable to find any other copies of this in any format whatsoever this at least allowed me to watch the events again it is very much worth it from that point of view

I've only ever been able to watch The Treaty in a poor, very poor version on You Tube, so this is a blessing from wherever it originates. Brendan Gleeson is excellent as Michael Collins, and is at least as good as Liam Neeson in the role, and Julian Fellowes is equally vile as the warmongering murdering Churchill. Though I can't find it in my heart to feel anything but hatred towards Eamon Develera and the British Government, Develera sent Collins to negotiate knowing he could never bring back the Republic thus absolving himself of blame and I hold him alone responsible for the deaths that followed in the ensuing Civil War, as he's alleged to have said "they'll remember Michael Collins long after I'm forgotten!", and we do!
