Our old Lira strainer gasket failed so couldn't find a replacement that fits sink correctly stateside. Stevenson Plumbing in London, England had what we needed. Alas, we paid for overseas shipping to replace original parts. There are cheaper alternatives available locally but none seemed to work as well as the original unit which lasted 13 yrs so purchased a new strainer and a replacement gasket for the old one. Hopefully it will be another 26 yrs before we need another! Stevenson Plumbing has a great website and is very responsive to queries-if ever in London and need parts they're the place! Our double SS kitchen sink (Franke?) was purchased along with other hi-end appliances for a 2003 remodel.

Its a perfectly good sink plug. It arrived on time. The quality is fine. The problem lies in the description. Yes it is "old style" in so far as it is likely to fit some older style commecial stainless steel sinks.BUT how old is "old style"? There are couple of crucial perameters that have to be checked and if you dont have an original plug to compare these with its a difficult task. The main problem lies with the depth that the plug will sit inside the plug hole. Even when pushed down as far as it will go the spring loaded bearing on the stem does not engage. The plug therefore cannot be used to fully "plug up" the sink - it can only be used to strain water. So before you fork out £20 on it be really sure it will work! It would appear the Franke have made small changes to the design and manufacture of their strainer plugs over the years.Read full review

I’ve never reviewed a plug before but having bought this one I just have to give it 5 stars. Not only is it shiny but it fits nicely in the hole and above all it stopped water from draining down the pipe. It may sound a little obvious that a plug would hold water in a basin but it’s just the way it does it and the experience is thrilling for someone who previously suffered terribly from what I call “leaky plug syndrome” Life changed for me when it arrived. The delivery was quick and the value for money very good. I’ll never buy plugs anywhere else and will not deviate from a Franke brand. (Unless of course I move and it has a different sink) Top job.

I have been looking for a replacement sink chrome plug for my 23 year old still looking good "FRANKE! stainless steel kitchen sink. I finally found one on your web site. To all you prospective customers out there I did not have made in Italy stamped on the underside of the item., but did have "FRANKE" on the front, so I took a chance and purchased it as it did look very similar. It fits perfectly and is exactly the same quality as my old one. Hope this helps!
