It is heavy to use when extended but ok at the shorter length. When extended switching itbon with the button and switch is difficult when you are holding the machine upright. An on/off switch would be easier to use. An older person would struggle with this compared to an ordinary lighter non extending type. Prefer a longer mains lead. The cover for the cutter section is no better than a plastic bag.

This hedge trimmer is value for the money compared with the more expensive options. It does the job. Negatives are that is is very awkward to use with the weight mid point. This is even worse when the handle is extended. It is heavy and the shoulder strap doesn't offer much to assist. However if like me you only need to cut a hedge 2 times a year, then it's OK. Definitely not one for frequent use

first impressions upon opening the box weren't good - it felt like handling a cheap plastic Christmas toy, the one that is broken by Boxing Day...so I was not expecting much when I first used it...but, despite reading about the excess weight of this tool, it felt OK in the hand, though I agree it is bad design to have the motor half way up the length of the cutting arm. It would have made much more sense to have it at the base, where the on/off switch is. I have used much heavier trimmers in the past. It actually cut very well - surprisingly well, and although this review comes after one use only I was impressed by it's performance. It's cheap too - considering I used to pay a 'gardener' almost £100 to cut my hedges once a year, £60 odd quid doesn't seem so much for this trimmer - even if lasts only a year or two.Read full review

Got duped again bought something that I thought was made in the US and find it was made in China, the machine looks well designed,is easy to assemble and use but I've had very bad luck with garden tools made in China, the motors burning out after a season,I will have to wait and see how this one does, hope it does better than the Chinese made Spear & Jackson and a Qualcast that only lasted a season each.

Its a good quality pole hedge cutter. Easy to assemble, does the job! Only the belt and the protective cover could be from a better quality!
