This printer is easy to set up and not only does it connect seamlessly to Wi-Fi, but it holds the connection without problems. It practically sets itself up and works well with Mac O SX El Capitan for you Apple fans! The rear paper feed slot is great for printing envelopes and producing greetings cards, and will also accept card up to 300gsm. This is a useful facility as it means you don't have to empty the front paper feed to print an envelope for example. The front paper feed readily takes card up to 200gsm. The print quality is excellent and quite sharp enough for any document. Photographs come up well, especially on photo glossy paper. The colour touch screen is intuitive and simple to use, while the quality of scanned and copied documents is as good as the original. Print speed is reasonably quick, and better suited to a home environment. It also accepts various memory cards for printing direct from your camera. For many years I've used HP printers, but have changed to Brother as I am unimpressed with the length of time HP printers last, usually only 18 months. A friend of mine has had a Brother printer for around 4 years, and it's still working well. This one should do the same.Read full review

This is a good all round printer. it will accept thick paper, card and 320g canvas. It scans well and printed photos are reasonable. This printer will accept non brother brand inks, look at 'Office World Replacement Inks' they have good reviews and are at a reasonable price. Avoid cheaper inks, you get what you pay for. Printer is easy to set up, just follow the instructions.

Had my previous Brother printer for 8 years, so happy to get another one. Super easy to get working. Needed to buy a USB lead, as I didn't want to use wireless. Only downside is the cost of Brother inks.

This printer may not have a snappy name but it's easy to set up and use. You can print directly from apps seamlessly and print quality is great. Although Brother frown on the use of ink cartridges not approved by them there's plenty of choice for those on a budget.
