I wanted this to use exclusively as a hot air blower for heat-shrink tubing and it's good value for money. It also seems to light first time which is nice. However, it's powerful, very powerful, which isn't always a good thing. Even on it's lowest setting it will burn heat shrink and melt plastic cable mesh in an instant so you have to be very carful and make sure you keep it moving all the time. Also, it has a tendancy to spit and splutter after it's been filled with gas. But, it seems well made and sturdy and it looks like it will survive being kicked around inside my tool box. There's also no way to tell how much gas is left inside (some others have a small window so you can see). It also has a fold-out foot underneath which is really neat.

First 10 mins of soldiering went great. Then it seemed too loose its umf. So I cleaned the tip I was using .... not much difference acheived. The power of the flame dropped significantly wereby it took a long time to melt the solder. I even topped the gas tank up thinking it would put the umf back into the flame. But too no avail. In conclusion its worth spending another £15 to get a better gas soldiering iron. Hope this helps
