The Epiphone Sheraton II (an “outdid 335” according to John Lee Hooker) is a great guitar. It’s not a 335, but unless you’re a genuine audiophile you’d be hard pressed to hear a difference. Coil split humbuckers get sounds that straight humbuckers can’t do. Fit and finish on my guitar is first rate, the binding is flawless and the gold hardware just ices the cake. I’d replace it in a heartbeat.

Way beyond my expectations! I already have a 335-style guitar from Eastman with Lollar pickups, which I have temporarily left on the opposite coast while in a new job, so I wanted something a bit different in order to avoid redundancy. The neck feels and plays great, and the frets are smooth. Nice grain on the fingerboard, beautiful finish, and much to my surprise, the low-wound pickups (my preference) sound very vintage and authentic and are extremely versatile.

The guitar is great, very comfortable, and sounds fantastic unplugged or on an amp. I can see this guitar becoming my go to, over my Les Paul and my Strat. I'd highly recommend finding a good used or a new one, things to be the next best thing to a Gibson 335, at a fraction of the cost.
