The iron was bought for my 91 year old mother. Her previous iron was a steam iron which she never used as a steam iron. I bought her this dry iron thinking it would be better for her. Not only her but myself found it quite difficult to work out where the marker is. This mark is usually a red spot or something similar. So on turning the dial we didnt know where to turn the type of heat we wanted against the marker. For my mother to work it out is going to be difficult. When i tried to set it on cotton, i think i got it right but the heat wasnt very good. My mother likes her ironing prestine so that hasnt gone down well either. So not sure about this iron. Another problem i have, due to iron having a soleplate, it states that iron should not be laid down on ironing board, i am now trying to find a ironing board suitable to store iron upright and not fall over and possibly hurt my mother. If you can help with what ironing board would be suitable i would be very grateful thank you Good point is it is nice and light for her.Read full review

Excellent little dry iron.Heats up quickly and gets very hot.Nice and lightweight so easy to use.Only minor complaint is the lead could do with being a bit longer.Otherwise a great basic iron for the price.

opted for this because steam irons sometimes leave contamination marks on clothes. this iron is brilliant ,, use with a spray bottle if necessary. no risk of marking clothes. sometimes the original method is best.
