    Everyone knows "Shimano" As a manufacturer of some of the best reels the world has ever witnessed. Well, This reel may not be with the very best, Bust for one at the economic end of the market. It's certainly first class. Couple it with a 10ft Feeder rod 8lb line and you have a combination worth fighting for, Can handle the sensitive touches of the small skimmers. Couple with the large pulls of the large carp. With smoothness of the extra bearings over the ST4000 This reel makes a great addition to the fishing armoury..

    Best small baitrunner out there

    I love my fishing reels and this one certainly makes the top 10. Beautifully engineered, fit for purpose, lovely smooth drag, and not too light (so balances well with modern rods). Only downside is it comes with cheap graphite spare spool. Other than that, well done Shimano!

    Perfect for Barbel.

    The 4000 size is an excellent choice for a barbel reel, its obviously good for other jobs, but thats the one I wanted it for. Comes with a good metal spool, if you wish to use braid, remember the spare is not metal.

    Very good quality reel for £54,does the job very well for carp fishing and spinning providing you don't use a line much heavier than 15lb.
