This is a great log set for the price to set in an empty fireplace (which is what we did). It has nice flame projections on the rear of the fireplace and the glowing logs are pleasant to look at. Gives the fireplace a nice look now instead of a dark hole. Tried the heater out and it works fine but that isn't what we bought it for as we have this set behind a set of fireplace doors. One complaint is the remote which seems finicky, as you have to hold the remote at just the right angle each time.

So far I have had it a couple of days (6) my wife was unsure what it was, she thought it was another heater you sit in the open, that did not please her. when she got home from work the next day I had it in the fireplace, heat on and logs glowing with the flames, and she fell in love with it. We just had our first snow fall here in Anchorage, Alaska so it was perfect, Remote is the way to go.. Bought to put in our fireplace that gets little use living in Phoenix and the many "No burn" days in winter due to air quality issues. Love being able to have the firelight and choice to use heater or not. The flames on back wall look realistic. May seem too plastic and 'flimsy' out of the box, but once you get it in place and turned on, looks like it costs much more! It fit perfectly. Handy remote. For the price of a few boxes of fire logs...able to have a fire whenever I want and not add to valley pollution. So glad I purchased.

I have rated 5 stars at this point. I have only had it a few days so I am constantly using it to see if it breaks down as per others who have reviewed it on another website. Heats my master bedroom in a matter of a few minutes to take the chill down. You cant beat the ambiance of this heater. Flames are pretty realistic, embers look real, you have several choices in how you want the logs to look which is great. I did have a problem with keeping the heater on longer, you just have to adjust the setting on the heater to high and it will keep the heater on longer. It is a little loud, but I like the sound of white noise when I sleep. I love the convenience of the remote control also. I haven't had any problems so far. Knock on wood. The shipping was so quick also.
