I bought this doorbell as a second outdoor bell for when we're working in the garden. The bell is fixed to the outside of the garage with the push on the up and over garage door post. I tried it, and it can be heard ok at the bottom of the back garden. As the garage is double length, I did have to extend the wire a bit, but other than that, it works well. I am a little concerned that wet weather may not do it any good, so what I intend to do is to buy a cheap plastic food container, fix the did to the wall with the bell fixed to it, then snap the container over it. Should be able to waterproof it in this way without dulling the sound.

It doesn't work when wired up to the full 9 metres of cable,so the shorter the distance from bell push to bell the better.I have it at about 2 metres and it's just ok.Not a very loud ring even after adjusting the central screw, you'd struggle to hear it from another room unless the house was totally silent.I'll buy a better mains powered one and use this as an extension.

Cheap easy to fit wired doorbell. No more flat batteries every fortnight in the bell push button. Glad to change back having left the wiring in from a previous installation.

Needed a replacement and this is perfect as struggled to find a wired door bell. Hubby installed it very quick & easy. Ringer volume can be adjusted by tightening or loosening a screw. Arrived sooner than expected. Thanks.

This item is far more reliable than the wireless version which is open to interference. I have had three wireless bells in three years and all have become defective and unreliable in a short space of time.
