I do not cook very much,so I don't need a $100 or $200 machine. I also have used a cheap $10 and $15 hand mixer that kept wearing out. This mixer here is just what I needed. It has more power than most of those hand mixers,and it also comes with a great price tag. It also comes with a bowl, for those times when I can scrape the sides without stopping. It looks good too-----------not all plastic.

The item was promptly shipped, and likely this issue would have been resolved by the company had I tested it immediately upon receipt, but a small piece was broken inside of the gear unit that receives the attachments; as such, only one side is useable. Due to the broken piece, the unit could not securely hold the attachment on that side, and it kept falling out. In short, it works, but not with two attachments.

My home sustained severe flooding in 2011 and my $400 Kitchenaide was destroyed. I don't bake too often but due to back and neck problems, it is difficult for me to hold a mixer. I bought this for $43 and it was worth every penny. I use it mostly to make cheesecake and it does a fine job. The beaters do not touch the bottom of the bowl so you need to give it a quick blend but I had the same problem with the VERY expensive one. I also love that it is as light as I feather and doesn't break my arm getting it from the cupboard. I would definitely recommend this unless you are a very serious baker and need a "professional" type mixer.
