I bought these to replace some old ones that have been used well. They were a great price and they came in a really neat package with the sharpening stone and honing tool inside, this package also fit my old honing tool in as well. They just needed a sharpen to make them as I like them.

As with all but the best chisels, these tools require work to prepare them for use. Quite suitable for opening paint cans directly from the box but before allowing them near timber, a full sharpen and honing is required. The machining is quit rough and all surfaces will need attention to polish out the milling scars. In some cases this will be enough to render the sizes inaccurate but once corrected, they will cut well enough for all but the most delicate work. All in all a usable DIY chisel with reasonable steel quality that requires regular honing to keep an edge. Like any budget tool you get what you pay for and these chisels are no different.

The chisel are of high quality and the box case is very well constructed but, sadly, not so the honing guide, the guide finish is of very poor standard and chisels and blades do not sit into it squarely therefore causing incorrect honing of the blade. I would suggest looking for a more upmarket guide rather than this one.

Got these chisels as I needed a new set and my old ones were past it. I went to use them straight out the box but man are they blunt and really need a good sharpening first. It's a good job the kit comes with something to sharpen them with.

Expected a lesser quality product for the price but was well pleased with my purchase. Chisels look and feel great. Only comment would be to put a handle on the wooden box but this was easy to do.
