Jean Patou is a French designer whose fashion career began in 1907 when he was working in the furs business, but was disturbed by WWI where he served as a military captain in 1915. After the war, Patou reverted to his passion for fashion and opened a boutique under his own name. His love for women inspired him to launch a trio of fragrances in 1925, as each perfume related to women with different hair color. In 1928 he creates the first unisex fragrance and in 1930 presents the extraordinary and timeless fragrance Joy, which became the second best-selling perfume of all times.
