Performs well, so far - although quite noisy. However, I suppose that this is to be expected for the data transfer rates (hence RPM) which it achieves. The slot entry & eject facility (like a car CD player) is very smooth - and is the reason I purchased this type of external disk drive. (Please note that I have not yet tested its 'write' functionality.)

Loved this item as I unpacked it. Then to my horror I noticed the attached USB Lead, this is literally six inches in length. Well it may have reached my front USB ports at a stretch. The back ones impossible. I personally would prefer the ability of attaching my own lead.

Very easy to use, simply plug in to a USB port, no separate power supply required. Works well for reading and writing DVDs. Only possible criticism is that the lead is very short, but it does store neatly underneath the player when not in use,
