I came across a slightly different model to this when I stayed somewhere a few months ago, but it seemed good enough to start my search for a good bedside clock/radio to replace an aging unit that had stopped being touch-sensitive. Since I don't live in an area where DAB is renowned for the quality of the signal(!) I decided on a model that had both DAB and FM. I really wanted DAB+ to be included but in the end I settled on the Dreamtime 2 and got a refurb-ed model from Roberts through eBay. In the end, it seems that DAB is good enough, so the device wakes me gently - actually I think too gently! - in time for the 0700 News on Radio 4. It has 2 alarms: they're both adjustable for start time, but not for duration. It's easy to set up (whether you read the manual or not!) and has a pretty good well-balanced sound from its built-in speaker - certainly better than many I've listened to over the years!! If you don't want a radio to wake up to, then there is an insistent beeping which could easily get the dead out of their grave!! If I have a grumble it's with the display: it's an orange colour on this model and requires dimming to avoid illuminating the entire room, but doing so tends to render the digits less than optimally readable, at least to my eyes! Overall, a pretty-good clock-radio, and one I'm pleased to wake up with (when I do!).Read full review

The radio has a good sound and features, but the all black buttons are all arranged in a pattern on the top which looks good. But you cannot find them in the dark and if you have to get up without putting a light on then this is not for you. I had to put a sticker on the 'off' button so I could find it in the dark.

This is a super DB radio alarm. Other reviews listed negatives that are petty such as the volume of the alarm cannot be changed in alarm mode unless you turn the radio off then on. This is 2 taps with a finger!!. The quality of sound, information bar display of news etc, dimmer, I have a choice of 91 DAB channels plus local FM. I aid less than £30 and have a bargain. Auto time set even the clock change for winter. The design s great, it looks good and the side speakers spread the sound. I cannot give less than 5 stars and pick fault with something that has been designed by a team at Roberts.

I love the sound quality of the Roberts Dreamtime. It looks good and the dimmer function is good. However there are so many buttons that turning off the alarm when half asleep and in the dark is very difficult - all the buttons are flush and you have to feel around for the middle, back button (one of 9) otherwise risk changing stations or turning the sound up or down. That's my only gripe and the reason I am now looking for an alternative with fewer buttons and set to the front of the clock.
