Not grown a beard before so checked out every beard trimmer advertised, lowest to highest price. Took the view that why buy expensive if I wasn't going to keep the beard. One of the cheapest and very recommended by many, so purchased one and couldn't be more pleased. Does a great job, well made, well designed and easy to use. Highly recommended.

Yeah, it's fine so far. On the upside it is powerful (runs from a pair of AA Alkaline dry cells) and on the downside it takes slightly longer to get an even length, certain areas have to be covered twice. I would much rather have something like this with alkalines in it than a sealed in rechargeable cell that fades out after a year.

At last a small trimmer with enough power to handle my short coarse beard. I have spent twice as much on other brands and not had comparable results. If the standard alkaline AAs don’t last long I will try a couple Li-ion cells.

I own 5 trimmers. This is my second favourite. The Remington is slightly better than this one, but I prefer this over several other types including a Braun and non-branded model. The AA batteries are interesting; I actually like not having to use a plug or worry that a cheap battery inside it might pop during a charge. The heads just clip over, so a little basic, but functional.

This is the most simple beard trimmer you can have and is ideal for first-time beard growers and teenage boys. It is cheap to buy but is lacking in features compared to other options available on the male grooming market. This trimmer eventually loses it's functionality and doesn't have a lot of length guard options, but it does as it says, providing you have fully charged or new batteries inside it. If you are an experienced beard grower, I would not recommend this; nor would I recommend it to a man who is looking to wear a beard for longer than a month. The most annoying part in my opinion is the lack of a charging cable, meaning if you run out of AA batteries, you're screwed and can't just plug it in and use while charging. This was my first trimmer I received as a Christmas present when I was seventeen, and upgraded to a Philips one when I was twenty last summer due to change in personal style.Read full review
