I bought this to replace telescopic pruners that wouldn't lock in position properly when extended. No such problem with these and they will tackle larger diameter branches than my previous loppers. The only down feature is that if you are at full stretch, with the pruner handles fully extended, it can be difficult to stretch your arms far enough apart to get the ratchet to engage. Nevertheless these are very robust pruners which inspire confidence in their longevity and I would not hesitate to recommend.

I usually cut off large and small branches at the same time. But because of the jaws spring open 100% after every cut, you have to rachet all the way down for the next cut. it takes forerver to do the smalest jobs. The maker seems not to have understood that not all brances are the same size. Well made as it is- its just isn't a useful tool. I cant see who would find it useful.

I bought these loppers, to cut down my one and only tree, that was to big. Wow what a difference my tree looks now, short back and sides. Loppers easy to use and made such a difference. If I can use them, nearly 70, you can.

I like the way you can extend the shears and it has cut though quite thick wood but the ratchet way it works means you have to to keep squeezing the arms together doing this when fully extended has the handles quite far apart and sometimes restricts the room you have to work in but I am happy I bought them
