The Sony W3 CD recorder is a very easy piece of equipment to use. I love the simple functions and the fact that by connecting the optical cable at the rear, minidiscs and DAT can be copied directly to CD. Alternatively, a CD can be copied by placing it in the left side draw and then using the CD synchro button on the front to copy at normal speed or at high speed. Analogue phono input connectors on the rear allow records, cassettes and even live radio programmes can be copied onto CD. When burning CD's from analogue sources, the recording level can be manually set with the dial on the front.
this is a great cd recorder. copies cd's directly so no sound quality is lost in the transfer of music. extremely clear display and easy to use remote. the fascia is plastic as on the other sony cd recorders . it would have been a nicer finish had it been in aluminium, however this doesn't detract from the units overall aesthetics. cd drawer belts become loose over the years and need replacing but this is an easy fix and belts are available on ebay. this is a handsome machine and ive found it to be very reliable.
my other cd has broken so I needed another to replace it and I brought it for a reasonable offer.i love this cd player and allways will. sony is a great name and reliable and if you like singing you can record your voice and be a star.Hope you like my revue.
I bought one of these because a friend has had one for many years. After I bought it I found out that the B tray (recorder side) stayed in (wouldn't open) My friend's one had the same thing happen, but hadn't told me. Turns out the rubber drive belt perishes /breaks. The belts cost 40p from Cricklewood electronics £2 postage (all +VAT.) £12 from Currys! You may need someone to fit them tho! So - Very nice as long as the belts have been replaced, (best do both sides)or you know a man who can!
The unit looked good, and it was required for recording Church services, but was returned to the seller, as it was damaged in transit so was not put to the test
