While the features of this player are great, it is not worth to have if you get a 2017 player. They have a LOT of noise! A buzzing that makes you think the think is going to take off. It's an issue with the lens/reader, because if you skip chapters it will die down. It sure has something to do with the way discs are made+how this player reads them. So, unless you get a 2018 one from a store (so you can be covered by warranty in case anything goes wrong) it's not worth buying

I've been toying with the idea of using a 4K Ultra blu-player as a necessity for review work but worried about compatibility to a standard TV. Of the 4 4K blu-ray disks I had, only the first one wasn't compatable and I'm glad I checked the rest because they were OK. The one that wasn't, I pulled a different one of the same film so it looks like the manufacturers must have reaiised there was a problem. If I upgrade my TV, I'll have another look at it. The main difference on a standard TV is slightly different colours, although I chose Vivid against Cinema colouring. The anti-aliasing, that is the trick used to give smooth curved lines is up a little bit. I imagine on the 4K TV with its higher resolution that will be even sharper and why people think it gives a 3D effect. I should point out my standard LG TV set is a 42 inch size so the pixels are probably compacted. On bigger screens, a higher resolution might sort out pixel issues. Although I'm not sure if I would be an advocate for everyone to change and its a long and expensive way to change to these formats but if you're going to change TV and blu-ray players, at least you can do one at a time.Read full review

I bought this to pair with my LG oled C9. The image quality is excellent, sound too, however there is a few issues I encountered. Firstly, the infra-red remote is poor, you literally have to point it right at it from a certain angle, I solved this by purchasing an IR extender. The other issue, this is most definitely not a region free player, it does not play region 1 blu Ray's. After buying many it didn't play one of these. I contacted LG UK who told me that every player they manufacture in the EU or Korea is unlocked to all other than USA region 1. I saw the exact same model for nearly £400 this had the modded chip inside of it, so, please be aware. Other than this, I'm happy. I will pay to have mine modded at a later date.

It arrived three days earlier than expected. Was easy to set up, worked straight out of the box. It had never been used as described.I found that the remote worked just fine and paired with my LG 4KTV, and controlled the TV as well. It brings new life to my standard and Blueray DVD's.

I had a sunny ubx700 which had just rec'd the Dolby vision update. Yes that player was more quiet than the lg but the software update wad broken. The LG works beautifully. Automatically detects Dolby vision and the picture quality first class.
