The tines get filled up quickly, after 3 pushes or so. The bottom side of the tubes should be slightly narrower than the rest of it - this would prevent the soil stuck in the tubes (diameter of the soil cones are smaller, than the diameter of the tube).

This simply doesn't work. The tines become clogged after a couple of prods into the ground and are a devil to clear. You'll spend more time unclogging them than doing any work. It's a good idea but simply doesn't work. It's a fairly well made tool, but a poor design.

One of the tines on this broke off after an hour or so of use. I have had to continue with a four tine device which just about works. The earth plugs do not come through the tines much so in fact you are pushing holes into the ground rather than cutting them. Not very good but I am having to use it.

This clown is very colorful and looks great in my display case.

The construction is of a reasonable quality. You spend most of your time removing the cores from the product. The corer tubes need to have a slight flute to them to allow the cores to be pushed out by the next core. As this is a manually operated unit it is time consuming effort to remove the cores after each time.
