My HP Probook 6560B with i5 processor and 8GB of ram with 500GB HDD seemed to run slower and slower. None of the useless 'speed up your PC' fixes seemed to help. So I decided to buy a 500GB Crucial Solid State drive and clone it. The difference in the speed of my laptop since the upgrade is amazing! I was going to buy a newer PC, but this upgrade just put that on the back burner and saved me a pile of dough! And Crucial is a top brand name you can trust that's made by Micron Technology, a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing!

The product is in physically mint condition the shipping was very fast. The drive how ever did arrive corrupted and I tried for an hour or so to reformat it and non of my computers would read and reformat it for me. Eventually I was able to get some software online that could read it and reformat the drive. Once it reformatted the drive has been working fine. It’s no big deal. Just make sure your drives are properly formatted when they leave.

Was able to purchase this for $380, shipping included and install it without any problems or issues in my late 2011 17" MacBook Pro. Cloned my existing 5400 rpm hard drive with carbon copy cloner. What a difference this makes in a macbook pro. Cold boot up in roughly 10 seconds! No bounces when opening any apps. Plenty of space for whateverI need to do, and everything on my mac from the simplest task to the most intensive is very noticeably faster. 512 gb of fast SSD storage for under $400? Unbelievable! This isn't the newest SSD on the market, nor does it have the faster performance numbers. But it hands down blows the door of any HDD, and none but the most intensive power user will probably tell any difference between the M4 and any other SSD. And unlike the Samsung 830, you can upgrade the firmware in OSX with a download from Crucial that can be easily burned to a boot up CD. (The Samsung SSD requires a windows machine to update the firmware.)Read full review
I bought this drive to replace a failed 320 GB failed optical drive. I was hesitant because solid state drives are more expensive and my laptop is several years old. But the increased speed and the cool running are a big plus. I think this hard drive will out live my computer but I can easily used it as an external drive it that happens. I read extensive reviews before purchasing Crucial and all rate it very well.
