This is an excellent little system i have it connected to a pair of Dali Lektor 1 Speakers and it sounds great, i am very pleased with it. It just shows that size!!! does'nt matter.
hi everyone i had 2 of these now and the audio is clear it lacks a bit power as its only 50 watts per channel but if you live in a flat this is a great bit of kit as the size with quality build is very good , but the bose systems just sound alot better a dont know why they are more crisp in detail then the arcam solo and now the bose are selling around £300 to £400 on ebay so there abit cheaper hope this helps
I replaced my old Arcam Alpha 6 CD player and Alpha 9 amplifier with this because it offered an all-in-one solution which included FM/DAB radio. Although it does not offer the sheer oomph of the Alpha 9, it does give slightly increased subtlty with a wealth of other inputs available including the ability to control my iPod (with the extra lead or docking station). With the right speakers this offers a superb system.
Having had a Linn/Naim system for many years, i found myself having to sell for lack of space in my new home. The Arcam system was demo,d to me and i instantly new that for space/budget i'd be hard pressed to buy better. Separation and clarity from this small system takes some beating. The Muso's don't look up to much but behave impecably, controlling bass and involving oneself in the music. Hard to believe that ALL this sound comes from such small units. Recommend the optional stands for even better bass response and clarity and an overall tightness to the sound.
Very well built system with excellent sound. Packs an awful lot into a reasonable sized package. Also very well thought out controls that are instinctive to use.
