First one had a weak weld on the horizontal bar with the tines attached. It snapped after about half an hour's use. This caused the tines to go out of line and made further use nearly impossible. Temporarily fixed with a jubilee clip but very limited success. Supplier replaced FOC as soon as the problem was known and the new version appears to be stronger. Hope so!! The tines do tend to get clogged so it's a good idea to have a suitably sized and strong 'prodder' to clear them. I had to use a hammer too as the impacted soil was impossible to free just by hand. If it stays in one piece it will certainly improve fitness - it's hard work and not for the faint hearted or frail!!!

This is a well made piece of kit. However, it is a waste of money because it doesn't work. The first time you use it the hollow tines fill up with soil. You might expect this to be pushed out as new soil fills the tines. No, the soil in the tiles becomes more compressed and you then have to dig out the soil with a screwdriver or similar. This is a very time consuming operation, which wastes much time as it has to be done after every new use. You can buy aerators with 'open' tines, which more readily allow the soil to be discharged; I would recommend these.

Ideal for a small lawn, easy to use, I suppose it helps being 16 and a half stone to push it into the ground. For an unknown reason, just one of the tines clogs up regularly, but I’m very happy with this item. Very quick delivery.

This worked well in my small garden, especially when the ground was a bit wet. I used it for a few hours and had to exert quite a bit of force to get it fully into the ground by rocking it from side to side. Im hoping to get all of my lawn done before the weld on one of the tines breaks due to having to rock it side to side. No sign off that yet though so maybe it'll last the course! Good value for money and quick delivery.

Used this on my lawn, it did exactly what it should do. The earth cores popped out quite easily, those that didn't were where the soil underneath was gritty, these where easily dealt with using a small screwdriver. Definitely best used when soil is damp/wet ........ makes sense I suppose. Aerator is quite sturdy and fit for purpose, certainly think it was worth the money that I paid.
