Very pleased with this purchase. Working without a hitch. A simple recorder that does the job seamlessly. No fancy tricks but efficient to the maximum. Sadly, this LOGIK recorder appears to be the only decent alternative recorder for anyone not interested in Sky or Virgin fancy hybrid machines! Still cannot think why the manufacturer (PC World/Currys)decided to stop marketing this marvelous recorder and not providing a adequate replacement!
fantastic product record my fave progs on hd then save faves on dvd.had one before but got stuck on standby
i was looking around for a new dvd recorder as i did'nt want to be paying sky any more money for a sky+ box, so i cancelled sky completely. so i saw the logik dvd recorder with build in freeview and 160 gb hard disc drive all for under £60, so i bought it i also bought a bush freesat hd to go with the package, that was a good deal at £55, so for around £100+ postage ive got the same viewing as sky almost for a one off payment, rather than be paying £35-£50 per month, a cheaper option i thought, the dvd recorder is the biz, it dose exactly what it says on the box, you can even pause and record live tv, there's about 250 hrs of record time in hq, and if you like a certain program you've recorded you can pop a dvd in and copy it across from hd to dvd to keep or watch again later, its one of the best buy's i have bought on ebay, if any of you are looking for a simular item to beat the cost of sky tv give it a try, i did and i like it and now im quids in as well.........Read full review
I bought this machine to fill the gap while I found a good replacement for my Panasonic machine, which displays a fault which is only interpreted as "Take me to get me repaired". I am pleased that I did not think it would be an adequate replacement. The new machine is awkward to use. The manual is difficult to follow and, although in one place it says that it will write both + and -, elsewhere it is accurate, because it admits that it only writes -. It will read both + and -. The menu system is not easy to follow but, with the aid of the manual, I did eventually get it to work on time lapse and I have managed to use the timer for recording. I had trouble copying to DVD disk because, although the discs are marked as 120 minutes (the old machine would write two hours on them) the system declared that even an hour and a half was too much for the disks. I had to split the three hour program into three parts to get it to copy onto three disks. I hope that, in time, I will become more accustomed to it, but it is frustrating, having to keep searching through a poor manual because the on board menus are a lot less clear than they might be. That said, the playback is of good quality and the tuner is more sensitive than my rather more expensive television. For what I paid, I suppose it is reasonable value for money. I just find that other, low priced, electronic items have more on board support.Read full review
Bought for use in spare room as a second recorder, my other being a Panasonic EH50. By comparison the Logik is complicated, instructions not easy to follow, there is no video plus feature. However it does the job, records on hard drive well with choice of quality v hard drive space. Very good Freeview receiver so unlike the Panasonic does not need a set top box for f/view channels.I am quite pleased overall, and low priced.
