My small dog has never had her paws cut as the pavements normally keep all them down but her claws have really grown this year after reaching 2. Didn't want to distress her by cutting them so decided to give this a try. She was not keen on the sound and feel at the beginning but eventually she let me do them all at the front. Luckily the battery lasted the whole time but they went dead just as I was finishing the last one. My other dog can do with some sanding down at the front.. he has black claws so this will definitely be ideal for him too but going to wait till his get a bit longer. I will soon be doing this once a month to keep their nails nice and trim.

It would be good for a puppy from the start not so for a older pup or dog as don't like the noise it makes maybe if made quieter then they wouldn't be scared

This in theory is a good idea, very little noise and handy to hold...BUT... this item doesn't have the power to file my own nails let alone a dog clee! The file stops with the slightest of pressure there for making it non-effective..

Bought this hoping it would actually trim my dogs nails. Even with the strongest batteries used the grinder just doesn't go round fast enough to ACTUALLY TRIM my dogs nails. Worst item ever bought.

Reasonable construction but has no power at all. Just tough it to a dogs claw and it instantly grinds to a halt (excuse the pun). Like something you'd give to a child that looks like the real thing, but isn't suitable for actually doing the job.
