What can be said that hasn't already in anyother review? The Sony Z1 is in a catagory with only one other real contender, and that is the Canon XH-A1. The only feature to outbox the Z1 on the Canon is that it has 20x zoom. Some say that it is better in low light, but from my own use in the field the Z1 can hold it's own. The amount of features for a cam of this price is top class. You can switch between PAL and NTSC whenever you wish so it can be used worlwide. The 1080i, although not 1080p (full HD) is still higher than most peoples HD tv's and with todays interlacing can look great. This is a well rounded camcorder and is one of the most popular cams for todays videographer. Look on most video forums and the Z1 will be at the top for the most entries. If you are in the £3000 to £3500 price range then you cannot go far wrong with the Z1. 2nd hand they are at about £2400 with medium usage hours (25x100 drum, etc). Go and get one if you need a good reliable cam with pro features. I did! G ConnorRead full review
up until just a few years ago this was an industry standard camera for pretty much all the tv networks for portable use. the picture quality is superb and still matches some of the mid priced pro level camcorders.. theyre built to last and will keep going way beyond the 1000 hr mark. youll need lots of light indoors as you would with any camcorder costing less than4k but outdoors it performs with the best from the day .
